Mayor David Gordon David Gordon, Mayor - City of Covington

Covington, Tennessee is known as "The Heart of Tipton County" because of the kindness and friendliness of the people. I invite you to visit Covington to experience the small town atmosphere and way of life. You may be surprised that Covington also offers many things that you would expect to only find in a much larger municipality. Walk around the courthouse, listen to the music, grab a bite to eat, relax, visit one of our many parks, and/or shop the stores downtown and the many other retail businesses in Covington.

What does "Quality of Life" in Tipton County/Covington mean to you?

It makes me think of the good things in life. It makes me think of Covington and Tipton County. We have a wonderful place to live and a great place to raise a family. We have terrific youth sports, the Ruffin Theater, Glen Springs Lake, the Mississippi River, the Scenic Hatchie River, Cobb Parr Park, Frasier Park and many other local activities and places to visit and have fun.

The Covington-Tipton County Chamber of Commerce is the main ingredient in keeping our Quality of Life what it is. The Chamber works hard to have attractive activities for our residents and visitors. The Chamber coordinates the downtown Heritage Day, two annual golf tournaments, helps with the Music on the Square and most other local activities. We have the Chamber Center on the Square which is a wonderful place to have any kind of meeting, reception, wedding, etc.

If you are not a Chamber member please consider joining and be a part of what is great about our community.
