DRIVER LICENSE
Driver license test are given at the Tennessee Highway Patrol office in Covington on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. . If you are testing, you will need to be in the office before 5:00 p.m. The office is located at 300 Highway 51 South in Covington . The telephone number is (901) 475-2521. A license can also be obtained at the Driver ' s Examination Office in Millington by appointment from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Prices and periods of use for a Tennessee license vary. A learner permit can be obtained on the applicant fifteenth birthday. An original birth certificate and proof of a social security number is required. Additionally, anyone under eighteen years of age must bring a compulsory school attendance form and have a parent or legal guardian with guardianship papers and you must be present to sign paperwork.

HUNTING LICENSE
Are you an avid hunter? Tipton County has many opportunities for your recreation. You can obtain your hunting and fishing permit from the Tipton County Clerk ' s Office located at 220 Highway 51 North Suite B. or any area sporting goods store. In the State of Tennessee , anyone born after January 1, 1969 must pass the Hunter Safety Course. Certification for this course begins at the age of ten. Anyone sixteen or over must purchase the basic hunting and fishing permit at a cost of $21.50. Additional permits for other activities may also be required.

MARRIAGE LICENSE
Have you popped the big question? Now you need to obtain a marriage license. They are issued by the Tipton County Clerk ' s Office located at 220 Highway 51 North Suite B. Proof of age (18) or consent (if you are a minor) is required with a driver license and social security card. Blood tests are not required. The cost varies: If you going to attend at least four hours of counseling, the cost is $33.50. If you are not, the cost is $93.50. You may contact the clerk ' s office at (901) 476-0207.

WHEEL TAX & PERMITS
What do I do about licenses for my car? Automobile licenses are available at the County Clerks Office located 220 Highway 51 North Suite B. The cost for renewing your license is $24.00 plus $61.00 for a wheel tax sticker, totaling $85.00. The cost to purchase a license for a new vehicle is $93.00. A Tennessee title is required in order to purchase a license. Out of state transfers must be made immediately. Car and pick-up truck licenses are renewable annually.
