Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival is set for September 27th and will be held on the Historic Downtown Square. There will be live music, good food, lots of arts and crafts, several exhibitors, and lots of activities for kids!

The day will start with a children’s parade organized and led by the Covington Tipton Junior Auxiliary. The kids will line up at the post office at 8:30 am and then parade around the square around at 9:00 am. As a special treat, Miss Tipton County will lead the parade! Costumes and wagons are welcome. If your little prince or princess can’t part with that special pair of cowboy boots or pink frilly tutu, don’t worry, this is a chance for the kids of Tipton County to strut their stuff. No bicycles, skateboards, or scooters please.

Once the parade is over and the Festival has officially begun, Event Outfitters will have the Patriotic Slide, Castle, Sponge Bob Bounce, and the 44 ft long Balloon Obstacle Course set up along East Pleasant Street. They will have wristbands on sale for $5.00. Shady Tree Fun Farms will have a petting zoo set up in the parking lot behind the Chamber Center from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm.

The Covington Sportsplex will be painting faces in two different areas. They will be at the petting zoo from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm and at Event Outfitters from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm.

Cowboy Cookin!
Marilyn Reynolds will be cooking Cowboy style on Heritage Day. She and her companion Steve Wilson will travel to Tipton County with their 125-year-old restored Owensboro wagon complete with chuck box. The chuck box is stocked with all the essential supplies; rice, cornmeal, lard, and beans.

Marilyn and Steve cook the old fashion way. They use no electricity and they have no running water. All of their meals are cooked over open flame in cast iron pots, pans, and skillets.
